What beautiful weather we're having!!!
          Summer at it's best here in Missouri!

Looking forward to another trip up to Door County Wisconsin----around the 20th of July -----and on Saturday , July 27th I will participate once again in the Quick Paint Competition as part of the Door County Plein Air Event, in Fish Creek -----

In the meantime I have been  painting most days -----figure one day -----sunset with cows another -----our beautiful phlox are blooming ----our vegetable garden is producing -----tomatoes ripening on the vine----- soon to be a painting!

Spring News

          Augusta Plein air Event 
        April 17th through the 27th 
   Loving that spring is here------and I will start to focus my energy towards more plein air work -----The Lyon School house concert was a great success and I thank  The Flea Bitten Dawgs for a tremendous performance -------and thanks to all those art / music appreciators who came out to Lyon School for the afternoon!!!  Find me in Augusta Mo off and on between the 17th and 27th  of this month----and give me a call any time to schedule a visit to Lyon School this spring!  573-834-5064  or on my cell 314-805-1301 ---------I plan to drive down to Cotter,  Arkansas for the White River Plein Air event , May 1st through the 4th ------ and I have my Summer Studio Sale and Open House Scheduled for June 15th and 16th this year !!!     Peace    Julie

Special Event !!!!!  Here at Lyon School Studio ----our first House Concert --- The  Flea Bitten Dawgs!  3 pm Sunday , April 7th , 2013------Thom Pallazola and David Spangler are this dynamic ukelele duo -----Great original and cover tunes performed with skill and charm -----$10  donation for this event -----we will provide some refreshments ---you are welcome to bring something to share!   I am honored to be the warm up ---with a few tunes at my piano.    let us know if you plan to come!

The show runs through April 20th!

It's great being cozy, taking walks, watching the full moon from my front porch with a fire in the pit, reading---and---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Spending a good deal of my time painting------ working on still life subjects that will be part of my show at the Bonsack gallery at John Burroughs School-----which will open with a   reception on April 5th , 2013 at the gallery, 755 S. Price Road,  63139 ---and run through May 7th , 2013. 

My concept for the show is to produce still life throughout my home & studio of my world as it is -----with available objects----and natural light -----on my windowsills, kitchen counter -------beautiful food & flowers  -----the things that rotate in and around my home ---giving me visual pleasure as they do -----

I am challenged  by and joyful in this experience !
