I'm back from the Northwest. We had a wonderful time, both in Bellingham, and on the Skykomish River in the Cascade Mountains. The scenery, light, friends & weather , were all amazing. Lake swims, kayaking , oil painting at sunrise & sunset , hikes up the mountains and through the tall pine & fern filled woods, dips in the crystal clear cold river & then laying on the warm rocks and boulders to dry------this was a great vacation. Inspiration abounded.

Back in beautiful Missouri I'm preparing for upcoming events-----THIS WEEKEND----Sept 11th, 12th, & 13th I'll be at Gateway Gallery during the St Louis Art Fair----stop by for a visit and to see my new work!

What a beautiful summer we are having here in Missouri----This  last week we've had cool evenings, misty mornings and big blue cloud filled sunny skies----I'm loving it out here in my country home. An evening drive through the Berger Bottoms at sunset sent my heart sailing.

I've heard from friends in Clarksville, Missouri that our Sunflower Paint Out made the front page of the local paper---glad to hear that----we had a wonderful time painting the sunflowers up that way. The paintings that were completed during the paint out are showing at Clarksville Glassworks through the end of August.

This coming weekend  August 1st and 2nd, Plein air artists are invited to be the guests of the Wiegand Foundation, at  Wiegand Sudios, Museum and Grounds, One Wiegand Drive, Chesterfield, Missouri, 63005, For a Paint Out / Rally ----To Support the preservation of this unique historic site.  Sunday Reception for the artists, 5 - 7 pm
Rise with the birds and paint this beautiful park with landscape vistas, picturesque architecture, beautiful botanicals and birds, and amazing still life arrays around the terrace and museum. You can see a preview of this artist's paradise by visiting www.lgmetzlerart.com to take a virtual tour of the grounds. There is no fee for participating  but pre-registration is requested.  You may paint from dawn to dusk at your convenience, either or both days. Contact Linda Green/Metzler at lgmetzler@charter.net   or Julie Wiegand  at art@juliewiegand.com to register and for more information.
